HCeramics, located in the freetown of Christania, is a small shared ceramic art studio run by
Henrik Christensen and 5 other craftsmen. Henrik comes from a background of interior design, but has always been fascinated by ceramics. Since 2004, Henrik has been able to dedicate himself fully to ceramics. Henrik is working with both stoneware and porcelain clay.
With porcelain clay Henrik is able to create beautiful translucent pieces that capture some of the small wonders of the world.
When working with stoneware the results come out more architectonic, raw and brutal. At H Ceramics, experimenting with glazes plays is an important role for Henrik.
There’s a fine balance between the shape of the piece and the complexity of the glazes, that he strives to achieve in every piece he creates.
In the clay and the art, Henrik finds contemplation, challenges, the courage to let go and the freedom to play. The clay is his inspiration and with it, he has the possibility to inspire others through his work.
